Simple, Easy to use and looks good! June 23, 2010 Mrs. S. Dumbleton (Kent) I bought this for my daughters newly decorated bedroomto play bedtime music, it's perfect or the job, simple and easy to operate, haven't had to read the instructions, just my bag!
Strictly for Toddler Beditme June 13, 2010 Lewis Graham (East Anglia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was bought for a small child to help lull them to sleep. Once mummy or daddy has read two (or maybe three "but no more") stories, it's time to calm down fully and drift off. This player - in pink - was chosen as a birthday present for our three year old.
It is about a stripped down as it is possible to be and still capable of functioning. There is no headphone socket and the CD display is a two-digit track counter. The function buttons have no colour on them so working out which button is which in the gloom of a toddler's room at bedtime is tricky at first, but not a problem once you have the hang of it.
The CD player seems vulnerable to dirty discs - it skips a lot and even suffers distortion - so care is needed when loading CDs. Given that, the sound quality is passable although not something I could listen to for too long.
The build quality for the price is fine: the case is strong and it has a carrying handle. It also operates on batteries - perhaps useful on a camping holiday - but no sleep function so it is possible to run the batteries down quickly. The radio is very basic and - with only a small aerial - struggles to receive anything beyond local stations.
For what it is meant for - a toddler - it's fine and hence the four stars. For adults with ears, look elsewhere!
A great player for young girls June 2, 2010 C. Buck (Hampshire) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my 5 year olds birthday and it is perfect for her needs. The sound is ok, not the best but you get what you pay for.
The player is lightweight and easy to transport around.
I would recommend this item for any young girl wanting a small CD Player.
if you need a radio... that's it June 2, 2010 Diana Zaharieva (Danmark) I have to admit that now there are many multy functional devices on the market and this is not the top of technology, but it is small, looks good, sounds good, works perfectly as a radio and has a CD-player. Because I don't have much spare space and I don't need some noise-making super player, this is a perfect fit for my needs. What I think is that it is suitable for small places or for travelers or just for people who miss the simpler times. But one word of advice for EU users - you will need an adaptor because the player comes with a UK-plug.
A good buy. May 9, 2010 Overthehill (uk) Philips AZ102C/05 Portable CD Player with AM/FM Radio - PinkI purchased this product recently as a present for my grandchildren to play their cd's and listen to Ceebeebies. I added a cassette player too. My daughter was concerned at how much childrens tv programmes distracted her little ones. The Philips was succesful in this regard so the problem is solved!.
