Brilliant piece of Kit March 17, 2010 Russell Ayre This is a brilliant piece of kit. Easy to setup, had no problems.
Also I live in a flat and only had one LnB Sat connection. It works great with the loopthrough. I know there is limitations but generally I have been able to record the programs I wanted to.
I just hope more free HD channels come out on freesat now!
Works out of the box as a replacement for Sky+ (but with HD) March 16, 2010 Peter Quigley (England) I've had this for about 6 weeks now and I'm very pleased. I can't express the joy I felt at finally being able to rid myself of the Sky bandits.
If you're not bothered about the Sky movies and sports channels, get this box, save money and de-clutter your life from the endless channels of trash on Sky.
To get up and running you just unplug the two satellite inputs from your old Sky+ box and plug them into the Humax. Scart and HDMI cables are included and set up is really quick and easy.
Some reviewers have mentioned that the remote control and user interface are not as intuitive as Sky. This is probably true, but only because we've all spent years with Sky. After a day or two with the Humax it's just as easy and, in fact, there are many improvements on how Sky does it. For example, it automatically creates folders for each series and allows you to record radio series too.
One bonus is that, if you are able to connect the box to your home network via a LAN cable, you can connect to the BBC's iPlayer service, which gives you an on-demand library of high quality programmes.
The picture and sound quality is excellent on HD, standard definition and also iPlayer.
A Must Have Product. March 14, 2010 Mr. S. M. Thomas (Rhondda Cynon Taff, south Wales.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have had the Humax Foxsat for about six weeks and we are delighted with it. It was easy to set up and once you become familiar with the controls you will love it. We had an excellent picture on our HD ready Panasonic TXL32X10T television and I am convinced that it has improved even more with this Humax. The fact that we can watch some programs in HD is a bonus. The cost of the Humax will more than be absorbed in the savings by not having to pay the Sky subscriptons every month. It might be the case that because it's free the picture appears to be better.
Humax FreeSat HD recorder March 14, 2010 ROY PRICE 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Installed and working in seconds. No problems at all, picture far better then Sky and by using favourites all channels are easy to connect. Some people criticise the remote but quite frankly it has everything you need on it and more, and once you've used it a few times it becomes second nature.
